Israel
All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go…Well, almost. I leave early Sunday morning to fly to JFK where we meet the whole group and have an orientation time. The group is clergy from around the US as well as staff from Project Interchange. A cornerstone of Project Interchange seminars is the presentation of differing viewpoints on the complexities and nuances of controversial issues in Israel and the Middle East such as the Israeli-Palestinian and Israel-Hezbollah conflicts. We have already heard some of those complexities in our pre-travel conference calls. I look forward to learning more.
We fly to Tel Aviv and over the course of the week travel to Haifa, the Galilee and Jerusalem. There will be some touring of Christian sites, as well as seminars with government and military leaders, as well as religious leaders. I will try to send updates via hotel computers. Church of the Beatitudes United Church of Christ will be in my thoughts and prayers as I take this journey.
Peace to all, Pastor Nancy
